This is truly THE trail in Arkansas that has it all! Caves, a natural bridge, a waterfall, historic Native American history, beautiful scenery, a creek, & more. It’s also a great, simple hike for you to take your kids on; I have hiked with my kids on this trail when they were itty bitty kids & I have hiked it with them now that they are older. We never get bored of this trail!
This is a 2.3 mile hike with the first 0.9 miles being flat as it follows along the creek bed. You eventually come to a place where you are in the “Lost Valley” & you will follow the signs to the natural bridge, Cob Cave, Eden Falls, & eventually the cave in the very back.
We usually spend a good deal of time at the natural bridge exploring, my kids love to climb through the bridge area, explore all the giant rocks, climb over the giant tree that has been there for many years now, & then make their way to Cob Cave.
From Cob Cave, we make our way to Eden Falls, where we take in the massive waterfall. Photos & video truly do not do it justice & make it appear as though it’s smaller than it really is. From Eden Falls, you continue to climb the staircase that you makes you feel like you’re in a Lord of the Rings movie, & you can go spelunking inside Eden Falls Cave.
Hiking gear you need for this fall: Definitely make sure you have headlamps or flashlights, good water shoes so you are prepared for the darkness of the cave & for playing in the water if you go in summer months.
