You Deserve To Believe You’re Freaking Amazing

Health & Wellness

I’m a fantastic athlete. I’m a great mom. I’m good at trying new things & doing a really good job at slaying them. I love to be afraid of doing something new, feel the fear & then do it anyway. I’m a hard worker. I’m strong. And I’m really smart. I’m not going to lie to you & say I…

Gilbert Railroad Trail, A Review

Hiking With Kids· Trail Reviews· Trails

Gilbert is a very small, Arkansas town with a population of 33 people. There’s a general store for renting canoes (there are a lot of other canoe rentals outside of town that are great too), there’s a small post office, a church (of course, hello Bible Belt! Ha!), & a sweet country restaurant called Ferguson’s where you need to go…

Made Me Want To Eat: Last week’s “Made Me Want To Eat” recipe was INCREDIBLE.  This week, the thing that made me want to eat are these no bake, healthy granola peanut butter cups. I’m going to attempt them as an after school snack for the kids, we’ll see if they are kid approved. Ha! Made Me Want To Shop: The…

A Day In The Life Of Me

About Kate· Health & Wellness· Motherhood

6:20 AM: My alarm goes off. I probably hit snooze at least once, if not twice. I like for my feet to hit the floor by 6:40-50 because it makes it all easier for the entire family if I’m the first one up. Our mornings go smoother for getting the kids to school when I’m not dragging! Breakfast 1: I…

Meh. Who needs money?? We’ll be rich in memories Meh. Who needs money?? We’ll be rich in memories, right??? 🤣
Anyone else’s kid need their favorite covers, a Anyone else’s kid need their favorite covers, a pillow, their favorite stuffed animal, the random toy they haven’t played with in 3 years but thought it would be a blast for the car ride??? Toss in meals, snacks, all the gear, the amount of times we turn around cause someone forgot something………… 🤣🤣🤣 always worth it though!

Who else gets it???
Spring & Summer are almost here! Which means, the Spring & Summer are almost here! Which means, the opportunities for getting your kids & your family outside is about to drastically increase. And yes, I’m a believer in playing out in the cold during winter, but not everyone is with me on that one yet. Ha!

Getting outside doesn’t have to be an epic backpacking trip in the backcountry, it’s as simple as finding some green space in your local community & going for a walk. Keep it simple & go from there.💗

Our favorite things to do???

Neighborhood walks, bike rides, rope swings at the Buffalo River, local hikes & hikes in wilderness areas, fishing, exploring a nature area, sitting in our backyard & enjoying the sunshine.☀️
Sometimes, you feel absolutely insane when that 3: Sometimes, you feel absolutely insane when that 3:00 AM alarm goes off for a major hike. It’s dark, you’re using headlamps to see one foot in front of the other, you’re a flatlander Arkansan like me in high altitude so you can’t breathe, & you are questioning all of your sanity on why you thought this was a good idea. 🤣

And then you hit the top & you’re like, this is awesome!! And then……you remember…. You have to hike all the way back down. And you’re back to questioning your sanity again. And your knees really hate you. 🤣🫣🤣

10/10 would hike Mt. Massive all over again. Which makes me question my sanity even more. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Zero shame. Will be there ASAP. Who wants to go hi Zero shame. Will be there ASAP. Who wants to go hiking???

I’m gonna go east…. no west….. no north….. I’m gonna go east…. no west….. no north….. no south….. ok, no idea which direction I’m headed but we’re going somewhere. 😅 This basketball season has been a blast & as we inch towards the finish line of a successful season with lots of lessons learned, I’m looking forward to what the spring & summer hold for us. 😍😍😍
Arkansas decided to dump sleet on us for 2 days & Arkansas decided to dump sleet on us for 2 days & we finally got out of the house yesterday evening. We weren’t at the park for very long, just long enough to test out the slide. ❄️🥶🧊 I went out this AM & the main roads have been plowed-ish. The side streets are still mostly covered, can’t see any of the street (at least where I was driving.)

Felt good to get out of the house though, not so ready to get back to our insane schedule.😬🫣 The slow days have been good & very productive home days for us!

Ok, fellow Arkansans, what have y’all been up to the last couple of days?? And if you’re not in Arkansas, what’s the weather like where you are???
Can’t think of any. 😅 I’ve got a ton of hig Can’t think of any. 😅 I’ve got a ton of highlights with my favorite places to visit on the Buffalo River. Float season is coming up— are you ready?!?! Or, send me a DM with your questions & I’ll see how I can help. 🛶
