Whitaker Point, 2.7 Miles
Whitaker Point also known as Hawksbill Crag, is one of Arkansas’s most famous hikes! The hike is mostly forested for 2 miles & then you come to the famous ledge. You need to be careful & cautious to on the edge. The scenery overlooks Whitaker Creek & when you visit in various seasons you can see different sceneries; from fall colors in October to luscious green trees in the spring & summer.
Triple Falls in Jasper, 0.3 Miles
This is a very easy hike with 3 flowing waterfalls (best to go after rain). The road to drive is steep & high clearance or 4WD is recommended. There is a gorgeous pool of water below the water & lots of exploring to do above the falls, We love to visit it year round! There are trails you can hike to go above the falls, but be very careful because this a nature trail, there are no rails. We love this hike!
This hike is truly the hike that has the most bang for its buck for your family. It features a natural bridge with a small waterfall, multiple caves, & Eden Falls with Eden Falls Cave. The first 0.9 miles this hike is flat & follows a creek bed where you can find Arkansas plant & wildlife. Pro Tip: Take flashlights or headlamps for spelunking!
This hike features an 80 foot waterfall & dependent on rain, it can be really gorgeous! It does have an descent that goes down to the waterfall, so keep that in mind for coming back up. Lots of different spots for you to go visit different areas where water can be flowing & rock formations for exploring.
Indian Rockhouse Trail, 3.5 Miles
This is a 3.5 mile round trip trail that features so much! You will go by a sinkhole, waterfall, mine, a creek, sculpted bedrock and a quarry. According to the National Park Service, people have been visiting this cave to use it as a shelter as far back as 7000 BC. It’s considered a moderate to strenuous trail, so keep that in mind when hiking it. The history on this trail is too much to pass up & worth it!
